These are, quite frankly, amazing. Here’s my recipe for super awesome, flavorful, delectable vegan chicken wings!!
Thanks to FlashFloodification for writing out a recipe for this. Here goes.
Chicken Rub
1. Combine in a bowl:
¾ cups of wheat gluten
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp rosemary
½ tbsp. nutritional yeast
1 tbsp. veggie chicken stock
½ tbsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp of chili pepper
2. Combine in a different bowl:
½ cup of water + 1 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. tamari
½ tbsp. of tahini
½ tbsp. of tahini oil (Not quite)
3. Put together wet and dry mix
4. Knead the dough/seitan
5. Pull off smaller pieces, cook for ½ hour, shape like a chicken wing
6. Add veggie chicken stock to the water (2 tbsp.)
7. Boil
8. Turn down to low boil for ½ hour
9. Make wing coating
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. chickpea flour
½ tbsp. mustard
1 tbsp. buffalo sauce
10. Pull out when they resemble chicken
11. Create flour mixture in a bag
1 cup of flour
½ tbsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp of salt
1/2 tsp pepper
12. Shake mixture
13. Put pieces in the wet coat, cover
14. Put in flour mix, shake to cover
15. Put in oil for 4-5 minutes (heat is on 8)
16. Cover in sauce of choice
